The planning documents available on this on-line forum are for representatives of eight island communities funded through a grant to develop their ability to promote affordable housing and community facilities.
In March 2006, the US Department of Agriculture’s Rural Community Development Initiative (RCDI) awarded the Genesis Fund a $300,000 grant (over three years) to provide financial and technical assistance to island non-profit organizations to assist with the creation of affordable housing and economic and community development.
Communities not participating in this grant program such as Bustins Island may contact the Genesis office at 563-6073, email liza@genesisfund.org, or visit http://www.genesisfund.org for resources on developing affordable housing.
