North Haven

John Dietter, a high school science teacher and member of North Haven Sustainable Housing, shows the house plans to the Genesis Fund board of directors at the site.

Charlie Pingree donated the two acre parcel. Members of NHSH have worked through the spring and summer of 2006 clearing trees and brush to prepare the site for excavation in October.
Islesboro
In July 2006 a modular home arrived by barge to placement on a six acre site purchased by Islesboro Affordable Properties (IAP) in 2005, with help from an acquisition loan from the Genesis Fund. IAP successfully raised local funds to meet a grant from the Islands Challenge Fund and secured additional bank funding. An local island teacher has purchased the new home at an affordable price, and the sale will make way for another home to be placed on the parcel for another island family.
